Pre-school

Ages 3-5 years

Our pre-school classes are equivalent to the Royal Life Saving Swim program and caters for children 3 to 5 years, where parents or careers provide out-of-water supervision. The levels are based on their ability than age. The program begins with water familiarisation through to the use of equipment to advanced teaching of safety. stroke development and swimming independently.

Our pre-school classes introduce younger children to a steady progression of skills that build confidence in the water. Lessons are available across four levels based on ability.

Swimming lessons at Margaret River Swim School

Turtle 3 – 4 years old

Building independence. Parent or carer begins in the water, and aims to transition out when the child is ready.

Angelfish 3.5 – 5 years old

Stage 1 equivalent. Learning to submerge, glide and float independently.

Seahorse 4 – 5 years old

Stage 2 equivalent. Learning to effectively kick and swim 5m freestyle without a breathing pattern.

Octopus 4 – 5 years old

Working on the beginnings of stage 3 with the use of floatation aids. Introduction of a freestyle breathing pattern.
