The Margaret River Swim School delivers Infant and Pre-School classes on weekday mornings. After school lessons are currently scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and Saturday mornings.

The online enrolment process briefly outlines what each stage / level entails. For more information on the after school lessons and your child’s equivalent stage, please refer to the Royal Life Saving WA Swim and Survive levels as the basis for your stage selection. Teachers and Supervisors will assess Week 1 and move children’s stages accordingly.

Here at the Margaret River Swim School, we aim to offer swim programs for all ages and abilities.

Our swim school is progressive and positive, with a focus on safety as well as an emphasis on correct swimming technique. The Learn to Swim classes are 30 minutes long, and we run four 8 week terms per year. We offer private lessons, either for 20 minutes in the mornings during our infant and pre-school classes, and for 30 minutes during our after-school lessons.

Important information for parents and guardians

Equipment

Goggles: Please ensure your child has goggles if required. Loan goggles are not available for children who do not have their own. Goggles are available for purchase at the Margaret River Recreation Centre.

Wetsuit: We prefer children do not wear wetsuits for pool lessons as these provide buoyancy, and can hinder the child’s swimming ability in a development setting.

Swim nappies and floaties: Floatation vests or similar cannot be worn for pool lessons. Parental supervision in water is required for children usually requiring flotation devices. Swim nappies are required for all children aged 3 years and under.

Parent/Guardian Responsibility

Parents/Guardians of children must remain at the pool and actively supervise their child(ren) for the duration of the lesson.

Parents/Guardians of children must pick up their child(ren) as soon as the lesson is complete. Children cannot be supervised by swim school staff after the lesson has finished.

MRRC Swim School staff will not be held liable for child supervision once the lesson has finished.
