KidSport

KidSport Augusta Margaret River is a partnership between the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

The KidSport program is an initiative to support children aged 5 to 18 years of age from low income families to participate in community sport. The program provides eligible children with up to $150 per calendar year to assist in registering with an approved KidSport sporting club or organisation. The program is administered by Sport and Recreation (WA), a division of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) with the support of West Australian local governments.

Who is eligible for KidSport?

  • Applicant must be aged 5 to 18 years.
  • Applicant must be named on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, with individual card number clearly displayed on the uploaded card.
  • Applicant's primary place of residence must be in the local government area they are applying to (exceptions may apply).
  • Registration must be for a KidSport approved club. Search through Find a Club.

What else?

  • A maximum of $150 per calendar year is available per eligible child. This can be used across multiple sports.
  • KidSport eligible clubs are available through Find a Club.
  • KidSport must be used at point of payment, refunds will not be given for club fees that have already been paid. This means that you must be approved for KidSport and have your code when paying fees – please remember to allow enough time for your application to be processed before your child’s season starts.

How to apply

  • Check your child is eligible.
  • Find an approved club.
  • Apply online.
  • The Shire’s Recreation Services will assess the application.

If approved, you will receive a code via email which you need to take to your club when you pay the registration fees. The club will then invoice the Shire for payment. If unsuccessful, please contact the Shire’s Recreation Services on 9780 5620 for further information.
